A white flash that haunted phone scrolling was hunted down and cured, and a new bottom bar is on trial.

Phone readers knew the ghost: scroll past the radar and it would blink white on the way back. It took a full day of detective work and a lot of dead-end suspects, but the flash is cured, and the radar itself got lighter while we were in there.

Also on trial: a new bottom bar with one-tap buttons for Now, Hourly, 10-Day, and Radar, plus a cleaner menu. If it earns its keep, it stays.
